The students of the Faculty of Fine Arts and the Faculty of Music get together to create the "Mikoshi," a portable shrine, which is the highlight of the Geisai. We want to pass this tradition on to the next generation without letting it die out. Since the Corona disaster makes it difficult for us to create Mikoshi as before, we will make a new attempt this year to convert past Mikoshi maquette works into 3D data and produce and sell Mikoshi maquette goods. We are looking forward to the day when we will be able to show you another parade of the University of the Arts' Mikoshi through the streets of Ueno.
Because of the corona disaster, it's difficult to enjoy Mikoshi of the Geisai in a traditional way. However, we still want to make it exciting for this year, so we decided to display the maquettes of the past years' Mikoshi (2016~2019) at the Online Geisai.Currently, the maquettes of the Mikoshi are stored at the university, but they are just lying in a warehouse, so we will use this opportunity to bring them out to the world, and also continue to maintain those maquettes for the future.
In addition to exhibiting the images on the web, 3D data of the eight maquettes of the 2018 and 2019 academic year will also be exhibited online.
We will also produce and sell an archival catalogue, 3D scans of the maquettes (from 2018 and 2019), and sell merchandise.
Design Each department came up with a plan,
and one plan was selected by vote! After that,
we brushed up on it to solidify the image.decision
