Performance movie

This year, the Stage Division will be distributing a video work titled “Performance Movie” made by volunteer students.
In the past years, the event stage has been a place for students to perform freely, and enlivened Geisai. However, in view of the COVID-19 situation, we have decided to move the event stage to “the web stage” this year.
Now, the word “performance” is widely known as acting or physical expression, but it can actually mean “eye-catching action” as well. We named it this way because we wanted to provide a place where students' expressions can be eye-catching.
This “performance movie” has a different atmosphere from the previous years, with various styles of video works, such as animations and promotional videos.
We hope this project will attract your attention not only with live music on stage, but also with performances that are possible only with video, and live voices that can be seen only with streaming.

*If the distribution does not change, Please reload the page.

Introduction of each group

León

 ■Artists

We’re León. We are a flamenco group of seven second-year music students. Flamenco is usually performed by song and guitar. But we’ll perform with piano, flute, saxophone, double bass, percussion and dance.
León is the Spanish word for lion. Standing on the ground of Spain, you can feel the passion through your body... Flamenco expresses lives. We will create flamenco in our way with the power like lions have.

■︎Description
We will start with “Oroboy” composed by Dorantes, a master of piano flamenco.
And then “Eladios”, a folk song from the Sevilla region of southern Spain, popularized by Amigos de Gines. The piano plays the part originally played by the guitar, and the flute and saxophone play the part of the melody sung by the singer, with addition of the cajon, parma (hand clapping) and castanets. During this quarantine time, we remotely played and created this piece while imagining a day of Sevilla's Spring Festival. Please enjoy it ;)

 “Classic, but new.”
Hello! We are students of the Department of Traditional Japanese Music. We usually play traditional Japanese instruments such as shamisen, tsutsumi and taiko drums, but this time we won't be playing them in our usual style. We'll be presenting a new work on a traditional instrument that we composed ourselves. Let’s enjoy our traditional Japanese music that not only goes back in time, but creates a new era.

“Why do people paint?” I've been thinking about this for a long time, so I've been painting and creating artwork to convey my image. I create various styles of work with different materials, focusing on the movement of the body and the way the hands travel, looking into societies and thinking about them.

Description
This is a work that you can participate in by writing about your feelings and experiences in Japan and around the world on rainbow-colored balloons. I have suffered many kinds of discrimination in my life. This can share our thoughts and believe that we are not alone in these problems. Hold your large balloon and let’s fly out into the streets. Then talk to people on the street and ask them to write a message for your balloon.

Description
Tagamawashi, or Wamawashi (hoop rolling) is a game of spinning a wheel with a stick, which has been played in various periods around the world. I made a mockumentary using animation techniques developed through my experience. And this is a record of the three films I screened that recreate the mockumentary. Focusing on the power structures found in the layout of the house, territories in the home become fairly redefined by projecting videos in the rooms, appearing like hoop rolling and creating a virtual hole.
